Bishop William D. Byrne encourages anyone who has been a victim of sexual abuse by representatives (Clergy, educators, employees or volunteers) of the Roman Catholic Church to come forward by contacting the Office of Safe Environment & Victim Assistance, at (413) 452-0624, confidential toll free number at 800-842-9055 or email  reportabuse@diospringfield.org .

 

Bishop Byrne encourages victims of sexual abuse to contact law enforcement if they believe a crime has been committed.

Safety & Security Protocols



The following is the Safety & Security protocols of all campus buildings of St. Mary’s Parish – Longmeadow. The safety of all students, parishioners and staff are of the utmost importance. These procedures must be followed by all staff and approved volunteers to maintain a secure campus.

St. Mary’s Academy: 

  1. Exterior Doors: Doors shall always remain locked and secure. No wedging of doors for entrance access.
  2. Staff, students & visitors are required to use the main entrance of the school building.
  3. Building doors, windows, alarms & security cameras shall always be maintained and in proper working order.
  4. Check & secure all doors of the Academy building by walking along the perimeter of the school checking & each entrance. This is a daily routine once students and teachers are in classrooms. (Maintenance Mgr.)
  5. Check & secure all doors of Academy building by walking the perimeter upon closing.
  6. Alarming building upon leaving the campus. (Responsibility of Administration)

St. Mary’s Church:

  1. Exterior Doors: Doors shall always remain locked and secure. No wedging of doors for entrance access.
  2. Building doors, windows, alarms & security cameras shall always be maintained and in proper working order.
  3. Longmeadow Street entrance doors locked prior to start of each Mass. (Celebrant)
  4. Check & secure all doors of church building by walking the perimeter of the church & checking each entrance. This should be done during the day to make sure the building is always properly secure.
  5. Check & secure all doors of the church building by walking the perimeter upon closing.
  6. Alarming building upon leaving the campus. (Responsibility of Administration)

Parish Center:

  1. Exterior Doors: doors shall always remain locked and secure. No wedging of doors for entrance access.
  2. Building Doors, windows, alarms & security cameras shall always be maintained and in proper working order.
  3. Check & secure all doors of Parish Center building by walking the perimeter of the center & checking each entrance. This is a routine that will take place once the event has begun.
  4. Check & secure all doors of the building by walking the perimeter upon closing.
  5. Alarming building upon leaving the campus. (Responsibility of Administration)
